According to the passage, the apostle lets us know his idea of what the church is supposed to be. The church is made up of sanctified saints. Being sanctified means to be “set apart” or different than the rest of the world. The cleansing of Christ’s blood is required. (Heb. 13:12; 1 John 1:8,9) Saints are those who are followers of Christ. In v.2 he says he writes to “all” the Christians.
