4 Bible Commentaries on 1 Corinthians 2: 15
The spiritual man (ho pneumatikos) is qualified to sift, to examine, to decide rightly, because he has the eyes of his heart enlightened (Eph 1:18) and is no longer blinded by the god of this world (2Co 4:4).

In Greek the word for spirit is pneuma. So spiritual means that whcich related to spirit. That is the literal meaning. Those who are born of the spirit are spiritual. They are not carnal. They are led by the spirit of God. In context we may say that here spiritual people versus carnal people are discussed. But we can not say that IN GREEK spiritual means non- carnal. Really speaking the opposite of spiritual would be phyisical, material, fleshly ( carnal). we decide the meanig from the context of the text. Again, what do you want to teach by giving meanings of the different words? If some commenary is there in applying the meanings it would be for the admonition, encouragement or edification for many, whcih includes me as well.

(v. 15-16)These verses prelude the “infants in Christ” mentioned in ch. 3. The spiritual man is the developed man in Christ. The “babe” in Christ is converting from using worldly wisdom. He has the beginning of development. The mature Christian will have more of the mind of Christ in his wisdom. The mature Christian does not care about man’s traditions. He is better to make judgments on all things.
