9 Bible Commentaries on 1 Corinthians 8: 6
Scot Dale. imagine : THE BEGINNING OF CREATION as a point “zero” in the center with a horizontal line to the right going to the right toward eternity numbered “one”, “two” and so on; while PRE-CREATION as the left side of of that point “zero” and is numbered “negative one”,”negative two” and so on…
Therefore when you say that Jesus PRE-EXISTED CREATION that is putting Jesus not the as BEGINNING OF CREATION but as BEFORE CREATION ITSELF. That is putting Jesus in the left- numbered “zero to negative one”. But Jesus is the BEGINNING not the pre-beginning! Hope you can see that.
JESUS Indeed Jesus have a beginning and not when he was born physically in Bethlehem more or less in 4B.C. but before Abraham-He was,yet is, and still to come-He is the BEGINNING OF CREATION-the First:
Revelation 1:4 - John, to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace to you and peace from Him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven Spirits who are before His throne,
Rev. 1:8 - “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,” says the Lord, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”
Rev. 4:8 - The four living creatures, each having six wings, were full of eyes around and within. And they do not rest day or night, saying: “Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, Who was and is and is to come!”
Rev. 11:17 - “We give You thanks, O Lord God Almighty, The One who is and who was and who is to come, Because You have taken Your great power and reigned.”

“But what does the Scripture say:
1). Jesus has a beginning…in fact He is the beginning!
Revelation 3:14 These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;”
This verse does not testify to the “beginning” of Jesus; it actually testifies to Jesus’ pre-existence to the Creation itself. He (Jesus, the Amen) IS the Originator of the acts of Creation. By HIS own power Jesus is the One who “begins” it; not as a created being Himself but as the One who actually DOES the creating (the beginn-ing). This harmonizes perfectly with the verse above which states: “BY whom (Jesus) ARE all things..”
This verse actually says nothing about the beginning of Jesus Christ except that if He DID have a “beginning” it surely came long before His physical birth in Bethlehem.

1 Corinthians 8:6 tell us that there is ONE GOD-God the Father-greater than all even greater than Jesus Himself. By the Trinity doctrine through the Athanasian Creed we may deduce that Christ have no beginning , was not made nor created but only begotten Trying to fit in the Trinity in our belief where there are three person in ONE God present logical problems. Here is a site regarding the logical problems:

But what does the Scripture say:
1). Jesus has a beginning…in fact He is the beginning!
Revelation 3:14 These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;
Revelation21:6 He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End.
John 10:29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand

Scot Dale: To me the title TRINITY is not an accurate description of the God of the BiBle. Could you please explain IN YOUR OWN WORDS what TRINITY is? Is it a title? A Term? Three persons in one God? What is Trinity?
To me my God is not the Trinity…my God is the god of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob…my God is the God and Father of my Lord Jesus Christ! My God is not the Trinity!

Criticizing and discarding the use of the word “Trinity” because it does not appear in the Bible is totally a “straw man” argument. There is absolutely no validity to it. Even the term “the Man upstairs” reflects a biblical truth albeit somewhat irreverant for there truly IS a Man “upstairs” (meaning in heaven).
If the word Trinity is used to accurately express a biblical doctrine, then there is nothing wrong with using it. The discussion ought to center on whether or not it is accurate in it’s use.
As it is, the verse above actually testifies to the Deity of Christ. It in no way strips him of his Godhood. The phrase; “by whom are all things” actually places Jesus on equal footing with the God of Genesis 1:1 and 1:26.
Those who use this verse to discredit the deity of Jesus are actually guilty themselves of polytheism for they make Jesus into a lesser God who is separate and distinct from the essence of the Mighty God; hence: two Gods.

The Apostle Paul tells us that we have ONE GOD THE FATHER… & ONE LORD JESUS CHRIST but wayward men would always insist of trying to limit God. they would persist of extra biblical words or titles to define or limit God. They would call God as with their own human words which mostly are inadequate and may even lead men astray… THE TRINITY is such one extra biblical title!
Ken Raggio wrote: Outside the Bible, men ascribe pathetic titles to God - MISNOMERS!”Divine Providence,” “the Universal Consciousness,” “The Force,” or “the Man Upstairs.” The use of such epithets are dead give-aways that the speaker does not know Him at all.
The true and living God of the Bible is magnificent and mighty, and we should make every effort necessary to discover Him according to the eternal, absolute Truth.
The TRUE God is the one and only GOD OF ALL THINGS!
WHOEVER the true God is, He has to be the FATHER and CREATOR of ALL things.
Ambiguous titles for God grossly misrepresent and even MASK His true identity.
For those reasons, let us totally ABANDON trite or inaccurate sayings about God - FOR THE SAKE OF HIS HOLINESS!
Inaccurate vernacular of God is misleading. It confuses and deceives us, and may even leave us doubting His very existence.
Let us STOP speaking ignorantly of God! Let us STUDY HIS OWN WORDS about Himself, and see if they are TRUE!
If His words are not true, then we can abandon all notion of God if we like.
But if HIS WORDS reveal a LIVING GOD, we will have discovered the most priceless treasure known to any man! ” Thus wrote Ken Raggio, good advised for all of us. It does not however mean that all Ken Raggio wrote is to be believed without question.
Let us believe God & know Him according to His Word and not according to man’s description of Him! Let us stick with the Bible…as in the words of St. Paul:
But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.

Petra - Creed Lyrics
Album: Beyond Belief
Listen:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H1bofa9mQa0
Words and music by Bob Hartman
Based on the Apostle’s Creed
I believe in God the Father - maker of heaven and earth
And in Jesus Christ His only Son
I believe in the virgin birth
I believe in the Man of Sorrows bruised for iniquities
I believe in the Lamb who was crucified and hung between two thieves
I believe in the resurrection on the third and glorious day
And I believe in the empty tomb and the stone that the angel rolled away
He descended and set the captives free
And now He sits at God’s right hand and prepares a place for me
(Chorus)
This is my creed - the witness I have heard
The faith that has endured
This truth is assured
Through the darkest ages past
Though persecuted, it will last
And I will hold steadfast to this creed
I believe He sent His Spirit to comfort and to reveal
To lead us into the truth and light, to baptize and to seal
I believe that He will come back the way He went away
And receive us all unto Himself, but no man knows the day
I believe He is the Judge of all men, small and great
The resurrected souls of men receive from Him their fate
Some to death and some to life, some to their reward
Some to sing eternal praise forever to our Lord

Tiuche,
I think you’re missing my point. Jesus is not the beginning of the creation, he is the one who BEGINS the creation (BY whom are all things). The Greek word translated “beginning” means “origin”; or the place from which all things begin. So, yes, Jesus existed in the negative timeline. (Do a comparison of translations when you have time).
Regarding: Rev. 1:8 - “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,” says the Lord, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”
If you are using this verse to suggest that Jesus had a beginning, then this verse also would demand that Jesus has an end. ???
