One person can never count as three distinct witnesses. Luke Skywalker and Mark Hammil (being the same person, one a character he plays, and the other his actual self) cannot constitute two distinct witnesses. But God constitutes three distinct witnesses, and yet is one God. God exists as three persons, distinct but not separate, being all in the same essence undivided yet distinct, so that God constitutes three distinct witnesses but is still one God.
