Hi,
The hebrew translation goes something like this: el-hahar mizeh w’yisrael om’dyim el’hahar mizeh: on a mountain on the other side, and israel stood on a mountain on the other side…(1 samuel 17:). Is the hebrew translation speaking about one mountain or two. were they standing on one mountain, on either side (facing each other), or each group on a different mountain, i.e., two mountains. I don’t know if my question makes sense. sorry for the typos.

god bless.
the philistines stood and encamped on one mountain facing israel. while israel stood and encamped on another mountain facing the their enemy; the philistines. so these were two different mountains. and in between these two mountains was a valley that separated these two mountains from each other. and in this valley is were david met and slew the giant; goliath.
i pray this helps. god bless.
