One Bible Commentary on 2 Samuel 13: 39

1

King David love his children…but because of his adultery with Bathsheba and murder of her husband Uriah, God foretold that his own family would experience trouble as punishment(2 Samuel 12:10-12).

Now the punishment had began: His son from a princess named ABsalom killed his other son Amnon. Amnon, his son from an other woman, had raped Tamar sister of Absalom…and Absalom killed Amnon for that…Amnon probably followed the sexual sin of David with Bathsheba and Absalom followed him of his murder of Uriah!

Yet despite what Absalom did…David love him still…a greater tragedy will later fall on David…

Here is a case of a father and son..the father love his son…but the son seems not to care at all for his father…such sorrow and pain to the heart!
