b. And are left to re-discover the truths
c. That they ALREADY had years ago
4. This is no more evident than in the parent-child relationship
a. When a child always seems to have to learn
b. The hard things of life firsthand for himself
c. Rather than building upon the wisdom of his parents
d. And when the truth finally dawns on them
e. They think they have discovered something new
f. And on and on the cycle goes
5. To show how fleeting our memories are
a. List the last 5 World Series or Super Bowl winners
b. Or more difficult yet, name the losers
6. Or when was the last time you drove by a cemetery
a. And wondered about their lives
b. Such as who they loved
c. And what were their dreams
7. And who will one day wonder about YOU
a. If anyone at all
8. Mark Twain captured the thought of this verse well
