1. You can sense the transitory nature of life
a. As Solomon states “It’s all so fleeting!”
b. “And impossible to get ahead!”
2. The idea here is NOT so much that everything
a. Is ABSOLUTELY meaningless
b. For our words and actions
c. DO have meaning
d. To those around us
3. This is more of a cry of amazement
a. At the “absurdities”, “frustrations”
b. And “senselessness” in life
4. Our lives are so fleeting
a. We live for 70-80 years
b. And then we are gone
c. Along with our earthly labors
d. Hopes and dreams
5. Solomon sets the reader up
a. For why a life lived only
b. For earth ends
c. Is ultimately so futile
6. Even with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior
a. A believer also will experience the futility
b. Of the human experience here on earth
7. The believer though has the ADVANTAGE
a. Of being able to put everything
b. In its proper context and perspective
8. We know that although life can be futile
a. Living for Jesus is worth it all
b. And rewards for living
c. A Christ-honoring life here
d. Will be sent on and received there
