2 Bible Commentaries on Ecclesiastes 1: 5

According to this passage, at one time, the Sun rotated around the Earth!

“So the sun stood still…” Cf. Joshua 10:13.

Giordano Bruno was burned at the stake by the Catholic church who believed the Earth was the center of the universe. Nowhere in the New Testament does it say to torture or kill someone who does not agree with you.

The earth rotates and moves around the sun. Some would say this passage is actually saying the earth stood still. If this is true we would have had a major disaster of cataclysmic proportions. If the Earth stopped rotating things would go flying!

OTHER FLAT EARTH PASSAGES:

Ecclesiastes 1:5 “The sun rises and the sun sets, and hurries back to where it rises. ”

Psalm 19:6 “It rises at one end of the heavens and makes its circuit to the other”

Isaiah 11:12 “……… from the four corners of the earth.”

Revelation 7:1 “I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth”

Joshua 10:12 ” “O sun, stand still over Gibeon, O moon, over the Valley of Aijalon.”

Isaiah 40:22 “It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth” - Note this is a flat circle not a ball.
