For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no preeminence above a beast: for all is vanity.

1. The earthly fate of animals
a. And men is the same
b. When it comes to our bodies
2. So neither has an advantage
a. In THAT area of existence
3. We are born, we live
a. And then we die
4. Whether you are a swamp-rat or a human being
a. You will both die one day
5. The atheist would have us
a. ONLY live with THIS life in mind
b. With no thoughts of an eternal future
c. Let alone accountability to God
6. But scripture teaches us
a. That we ARE different from animals
b. In that we have an ETERNAL soul
7. And unlike the animals
a. Mankind IS accountable to God

I’m not exactly sure what you’re asking… But in Ecclesiastes, Solomon is viewing life from a completely human standpoint “under the sun.” Therefore the conclusions he draws are very depressing. “Under the sun” we won’t find anything worth living for. But, our hope lies beyond the sun!
