1. We were NOT designed by God
a. To sit around and do nothing all day long
2. Work is a GIFT from God
a. Even though in sin-cursed bodies
b. It is difficult at times to see that fact
3. Work brings with it
a. A real sense of accomplishment
4. For me there is nothing
a. Like a freshly mowed yard
b. Planting fruit trees
c. Or a successfully repaired car
5. We work hard and get something done
a. Then it IS time to enjoy
b. The fruits of our labor
6. For some the “good of his labor”
a. May mean buying something
b. You have had your heart set on
7. For others it might mean a vacation
a. To have some fun in the sun
b. Or perhaps a ski trip
8. And for others it might mean a cookout
a. With friends and family
b. To enjoy some good food and drink
9. Work even makes our play-time
a. All the sweeter
b. Such as a round of golf
c. Or swimming in the pool
10. God put Adam in the Garden of Eden to work
a. And work will no doubt
b. Continue in eternity
c. But it will be one
d. Of enjoyment and satisfaction
11. In the few days God has given us upon the earth
a. It is the simple pleasures in life
b. Of work and enjoying its fruits
c. That give life its flavor
d. And bring us
e. The GREATEST satisfactiono
