1. DEATH is the great equalizer
a. For it happens to EVERYONE
b. Believers and unbelievers
2. Those who live a moral life
a. Those living a religiously pure life
b. And those who do NOT
c. Will both die one day
3. Those who live in covenant with God
a. And those who do not
b. Will both one day die
4. Those living a holy life
a. And those living an immoral life
b. Will both die one day
5. Those making promises to God
a. And those who do NOT
b. Will ALSO both die one day
6. Knowing that one day
a. We ALL will die
7. One would think we would
a. BETTER prepare for it
8. I believe MOST people though
a. Push it to the back of their minds
b. And just figure they will
c. Face it when it comes
9. But death often comes
a. When we do NOT expect it
b. And are often caught UNPREPARED
10. Although a parable about covetousness, Jesus warned us of death‘s suddenness
a. And he told them a parable, saying, “The land of a rich man produced plentifully, and he thought to himself, ‘What shall I do, for I have nowhere to store my crops?’And he said, ‘I will do this: I will tear down my barns and build larger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods. And I will say to my soul, Soul, you have ample goods laid up for many years;
relax, eat, drink, be merry. ‘But God said to him, ‘Fool! This night your soul is required of you, and the things you have prepared, whose will they be?’ (Luke 12:16-20 ESV)
