Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;

Christ abolished, in his flesh, the law and the commandments of the old testament. Cf. v.15. He created one new man from the Jew and gentile. When they obey Christ they are made one new spiritual race.
