Ex. 12:15-20
#115: To remove chametz on the Eve of Passover [season] (Ex. 12:15)
#116: To rest on the first day of Passover [season] (Ex. 12:16; Lev. 23:7)
#117: Not to do work on the first day of Passover [season] (Ex. 12:16; Lev. 23:6-7)
#118: To rest on the seventh day of Passover [season] (Ex. 12:16; Lev. 23:8)
#119: Not to do work on the seventh day of Passover [season] (Ex. 12:16; Lev. 23:8)
#120: To eat matzah on the first night of Passover [season] (Ex. 12:18)
#121: That no chametz be in the Israelite’s possession during Passover [season] (Ex. 12:19)
#122: Not to eat any food containing chametz on Passover [season] (Ex. 12:20)
Note that commands #116 & 117 are basically the same. Ditto for #118 & #119. Also once #115 is completed, then #121 & #122 follow suit.
Some people observe these commands by performing a spring cleaning of their entire house. Even if the only place bread is eaten is in the kitchen and dining room (and in my case the living room). It is symbolic of removing sin from our lives. Are you a good person? Are you sure? Did you check your closet with the skeleton?
Finally, it is my understanding that matzah has come to replace the lamb during a seder. For example, diners ensure that the entire matzah is consumed.
