I have looked up in several commentaries this verse and its corresponding verse 34:5. It seems to me, though I can get no corroboration that the Lord is calling upon Himself. This indicates to me the plural (trinitary) nature of God revealed in the old testament. Any comments?

No man can see God, but the Son reveals Him.(John 1;14,18)
But Moses does see the Lord, to be specific not the face, but back parts only. So we can say that the Son reveals God the Father here. or we may say, Moses sees God the Son. The Son procalims who the Lord is! Gracious, good, merciful, long-suffering and truth (Reality and Justice)
The Lord says that He would proclaim the name of the Lord! (not that he would proclaim His name.) The way the language is used here, we see the indication of the reference to the Trinity in the light of the New Testament.
