2 Bible Commentaries on Galatians 2: 21

We are dead to the law through the body of Christ.
In a way this applies to our personal life as well. When we are baptized we wash away our old sinful nature. We must live life anew. We cannot rebuild our evil ways that Christ destroyed on the cross. Cf. Rom 6:4-7.

You wrote, “When we are baptized we wash away our old sinful nature.”
Baptism does not “wash away our sinful nature.” The Holy Bible says that all reproduction is “after its kind.” Since all members of humankind descend from Adam, they inherit his old sin nature (Rom. 5:12). No person ever gives up their God-given right to make free-will choices in life. Sin always involves a choice. So, Believers have the power to sin. They do it all the time, more often than not, but with the power of the Holy Spirit a believer has the power not to sin.
