Paul calls the Galatians stupid. The Galatians abandoned the grace and freedom of the cross in favor of the legalism of the Mosaic Law. The Galatians were Gentile believers and belonged to a group of churches. Paul gave them the Gospel and taught them God’s Word. But, Paul left and false teachers moved in. The false teachers told them about the Mosaic Law and convinced the Galatians to believe salvation and spirituality was by works not grace. So, Paul calls them stupid.

BEING A LEGALIST OR BEING LAWLESS IN ONCE DOCTRINE IS TO BE STUPID
St. Paul corrected these Galatians because they believe that they are saved because of their perfect keeping of the law-they were legalist. On the other hand, those who believe that they are saved by grace while rejecting to keep the Law are also wrong. Both legalist and licentious believers are stupid in their beliefs!
