Paul in this passage enjoined those that are instructed in the word of God to share their substance with their instructors.This is what is referred to in the New Testament as Prophet’s offering. The congregation must as a matter of fact take care of their pastors.

V.6 shows that we must support the preachers who spend their days looking after the spiritual needs of the congregation. Because of the demands that are put upon them they need to be supported financially to be successful. This way they can devote their time toward the spiritual needs of the congregation. Cf. 1.
