So maybe God had stored all that water ABOVE the atmosphere (firmament) with the purpose of releasing it in the Great Flood, LOL!
The firmament is Raca a thin layer of translucent mental that you can see through but it keeps the ultra vilolent rays out and the atomsphere at 28 PSI compared to 14 PSI after the flood. This is why people preflood lived 900 years but after the flood the firmament was destroyed… The good news is it will be restored when Jesus returns and the earth is rebuilt during the Millenium rule… See Dr. Carl Baugh Creation evidence Museum he explains it much better than I do…Mark
What are the waters above the firmament?
This firmament, where birds will later fly (Gen 1:20), is small in size compared to two much greater firmaments: one that extends beyond the farthest stars (Gen. 1:16-17); and, one that extends into the kingdom of God (Ezek. 1:26).
