It doesn’t look to me like God was done. The emphasis throughout chapter one has been heaven and Earth. We don’t know what heaven is exactly, but from all indications it is either part of the Earth’s atmosphere or just beyond it in the immediate space around our planet. So all that God created was but a minute fraction of one percent of the universe!

Okay, God does mention the stars once, just once, in passing. And the reader gets the impression that they are just little dangling lights. (Stars don’t even get a mention in the chapter two, which Bible apologists claim to be a “detailed” story of creation!) In any case, God never creates any any planet other than our own, any other moon, any comet, any asteroid, any space matter… nothing!

I’d like to know what the Bible apologists have to say about such a huge lapse!

Charles: Laugh out loud, I am here for you and for God…not for myself…i brought up the monkey to bring us back into our senses-to put us back into our proper place as humans..after the god’s kind and not after the monkey kind. The devil want us to ape our “cousins” as you said…yet would we allow our common enemy to make a monkey out of us? So let us leave it behind…

I am not claiming to know everything, no one can, but i am here…one who had been through life as a DOUBTER OF GOD AND THE BIBLE…I have been a lot through the deception of Satan…and i can relate to you…and I advise you not to give up on God and the Holy bible despite all rumors or facts against it…just keep on investigating keeping an honest and open eye.

TIUCHE, you started the monkey comparison in Post 6. I didn’t shy away from it because we are akin to monkeys and apes. They are our cousins. We share a common ancestor with them. So if you want to talk monkeys, if you want to call me a monkey king as you did in Post 8, if you are so fascinated by monkeys, then we can generalize. And when we generalize we can everybody a monkey. All scientists, all historians, all authors become monkeys. But I don’t think this is leading us anywhere. Why did you ever bring up this monkey subject?

Charles: You said post#7:the Bible was written by monkeys.

What would You think of a man who study and try to repudiate the writings of monkeys? Isn’t it illogical on your part to spend your time trying to convince everybody that the writings of monkeys are flawed?

As for me I don’t consider its writer as monkeys, they were holy men of old who were inspired of the Holy Spirit to record for us our history so we know where we came from and where we will be going.

For you to claim that the Bible is nothing but writings of monkeys…would convince me that you act lower than this monkeys. Why? Because these monkeys recorded history & advance news of the future for the benefit of their kind…that the future generation would learn from history & their good future. While you…you think you are reasonable and logical…but you do not know your past neither do you know where you are going except that your future is the grave! What sad & bleak future for one who claims to be so enlightened…

TIUCHE you started all this monkey business, and you can finish it whenever you stop singing American Pie. The point is the Biblical stories of creation are flawed as I explained in Post 5 and in many other posts on Genesis One verses.

Charles: You are playing the role of MONKEY KING! And you want to make monkey of all men and to make the purging ground stale and ineffective…but could you?

The monkey doesn’t know and therefore the Bible doesn’t know either; the Bible was written by monkeys.

The monkey would not agree that he should behave as a man for he is a monkey…a beast! Whoever created the universe the monkey doesn’t know!

I accept the fact that “finished” here means that God was done with his work. It doesn’t necessarily mean that no more people would be born. It means that he had started the boll rolling and each species was to propagate on its own.

But that is not what happened. Since then new species came and went. Even the hominidae/homo family changed a lot, with Australopithecus, homo abilis, Neanderthal, and many others making their way in and out of creation. If Noah had to build an ark today, its passengers would be vastly different. So God was NOT yet done when he rested. The Bible is incorrect.

Also this verse talks only about heaven and Earth. Who, I wonder, created the rest of the universe?

In Genesis 2:1, the word “fininsh” translate the Hebrew wold ‘Kalah’, the biblical usage is shown as under:

1) to accomplish, cease, consume, determine, end, fail, finish, be complete, be accomplished, be ended, be at an end, be finished, be spent

a) (Qal)

1) to be complete, be at an end

2) to be completed, be finished

3) to be accomplished, be fulfilled

4) to be determined, be plotted (bad sense)

5) to be spent, be used up

6) to waste away, be exhausted, fail

7) to come to an end, vanish, perish, be destroyed

b) (Piel)

1) to complete, bring to an end, finish

2) to complete (a period of time)

3) to finish (doing a thing)

4) to make an end, end

5) to accomplish, fulfil, bring to pass

6) to accomplish, determine (in thought)

7) to put an end to, cause to cease

8) to cause to fail, exhaust, use up, spend

9) to destroy, exterminate

c) (Pual) to be finished, be ended, be completed

Which meaning is to be taken? Surely that which best fit the context. people may use other meanings as well to fit well their own pet doctrines! But then it is difficult to decide what is truth.

do you know what the word finished means? Or the word ALL? Not hard to figure out. sadly traditions of men often stand in the way of truth.

All souls were created at this time? I suppose that is in the “Hebrew” as well?

The word all means, the whole in hebrew. the word host means, mass of persons. All souls were created at this time that would ever be.
