Marriage is what brings us together today:
Gen 2:21-25
When God brought the woman unto the man, He performed the first wedding ceremony. Marriage is the oldest institution/covenant/sacrament. The covenant should focus on love to your partner, and trust that your spouse will love you in return. It also serves as a picture of the covenant between God and His people. He makes promises and His promises never fail; it is humans who fail Him. I once read the claim that male leaders of the church created marriage. Actually, the Christian church did not exist until the Pentecost event in Acts. On that note, Judaism as a formal religion did not exist until Moses received the laws. The stereotypical male either wants to remain a bachelor or wants multiple partners. Why would such a creature create marriage? It must be from God! It seems that every culture recognizes marriage, and it is usually between one man and one woman. Marriage is NOT about two consenting adults who decide to share living space as long as it’s convenient. Marriage involves three: Man, woman, and God. That is why a Christian married to a non-Christian is considered unequally yoked. If you don’t believe in God, why bother with marriage? Indeed, it sometimes seems that America is a Christian nation only when it is time for a marriage, a funeral, Christmas, or Easter.
Finally, the phase in verse 24 seems like a command to “leave” and “cleave”. But the verse is not referenced in the list of 613 Torah commands. Perhaps it is considered covered by the command to “multiply”. It is also interesting that God took woman from man, and then brings them back together with the note that they will be “one flesh”. I am again reminded of the quote “you complete me”.

2)Jesus Himself has referred this verse when there was an argument with the Pharisees regarding the divorce.
3)Paul has quoted this verse when he discussed about the relationship between husband & wife. The husband is compared to the husband & wife to the Church.
4)Moses is the writer of Genesis which is called the “Seed Book of the Bible.”All the major themes of the Bible are found in basic forms in Genesis. Those themes are developed later in the Bible.
5)Sex is created by God.Read Matt.19:4;Mal.2:15.Marriage is ordained by God.It is honorable in all.Heb.13:4.The wrong use of sex is sin.The Bible condemns the sins of adultery & fornication.

GOD GIVES A MAN AFTER HIS OWN HEART MANY WIVES
God gave King David many wives, so how can you say that He intends for men to have only one wife? Is God prejudice? Don’t twist Genesis 2:24 for your doctrine of Monogamy.
The truth is God did not say we should marry. God did not say we should not marry. God did not say we should have one wife. God did not say we should have many wives. When we take the prerogative and declare that God did say such a thing when He did not, that makes us a liar. and you know who the father of lies is!
Have your heart been fooled by a woman Roland G?
