Roland G: it doesn;t seem like something you can explain either. It’s a myth.

Charles (Post #7): Did I say there are verses that speak of the humanity of Jesus Christ in the Old Testament? God the Second Person of the Godhead is the same person as Jesus Christ. If you are an unbeliever I would not expect you to understand how this is possible.

Roland G: There are NO verses that speak of Jesus in the entire Old Testament. I have seen all the wishful interpretations, and they are all stretched thin. You can find Jesus or Osiris or anything and anyone anywhere your imagination takes you, such as you did with this verse, but a serious argument you cannot make.

The OT is the Jewish Bible, and the Jews are still waiting for the Messiah. Jesus does not belong in the Jewish Bible. He’s not known there and he’s not found there. If you want to meet Darth Vader, you go to Star Wars, not to Superman. And if you want to meet Jesus you go to the New Testament, not the old one.

Charles (Post #5): Many people confuse the deity of the Second Person of the Godhead with His humanity. The Second Person of the Godhead put on a human nature. He existed with God the Father and God the Holy Spirit before He put on a human nature. There are verses that speak of the humanity of the Second Person of the Godhead. There are also verses that speak of the deity of Jesus Christ. And, there are verses that speak of the deity of all three members of the Godhead such as this one.

The issue for those who do not know Jesus is their attitude towards Him. Unbelievers cannot know what belongs to God. They can only ask questions and argue with no resulting benefit. I disagree with Post 4 that the pronoun “us” refers to God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. In those days Jesus and the Holy Spirit had not been introduced yet. But there were other gods back then, and the distinction between god and human was not always very clear. This verse seems to indicate that access to the tree of knowledge had given Adam and Eve godly powers and therefore they had to be taken out of the garden. Compare this with the Tower of babel story when God was (or several gods were) afraid that mortals might gain too much power and had to be stopped: “let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.” (Gen 11:7)

James De Horn (Post #2): Eve only alleges what she understood God meant by His instruction. Her distorted thinking under the seductive influence of Satan added to God’s instruction. But, Eve does not know what is good or what is evil and can only sin by disobeying God’s command.

James De Horn (Post #1): The pronoun “us” refers to God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.

James De Horn Post#1 The Word “US” is use because the Word “God ” in here is Elohim or the God Family. Elohim is plural being “El” or God as singular.

Hear o Israel The LORD our God(Elohim) is one LORD…(correct me if i am wrong regarding the Word God here as Elohim too.

For post #2 question: Did Eve sin before she ate of the fruit of the tree?

Eve sinned in listening to the devil instead of the Word of God…she also did not listen carefully so that when the serpent tempted her she told the devil that God said they should not TOUCH the tree! She was innocently lying; God did not say that they should not touch the tree…God said they should not eat of the fruit of the TREE of the knwoledge of Good and Evil.

She was deceived…unwatchful..foolish grandmother of ours! And today people are still dull of hearing and slow of heart to listen and carefully observe the Word of God…like grandmother Eve.

Gen. 3:3 Eve says: “…and you must not touch it.” God never said that. Therefore, this statement is a lie. Is this not a sin? Did Eve sin before she ate from the tree?

Why is the pronoun “us” used in this passage? God said: …man has become as one of “US.”
