Just like Adam and Eve in Chapter Two of Genesis, people in warm parts of the world like central Africa and Polynesia were until fairly recently unashamed of being nude or topless. Then European missionaries took Genesis Chapter Three and the rest of the Bible to these people, and now nakedness shames them. When I was in Polynesia I couldn’t help but notice that, while the natives now honor the God of the European missionaries with their modesty, it is the Europeans who strip topless or nude there. It made me wonder!!

Herbert, its strange right? But when it comes to Adam and Eve running around naked, think of kids, their minds are innocent…they don’t think a thing about running around in the nude.

O, and i don’t think anybody knows what the forbidden fruit was.

Why is it that before the forbidden fruit, Adam and Eve were not aware of their situation? It is as though they were in spell and not know who they really are? What is the forbidden fruit after all?

Many people have blamed Eve for the fall of man, saying she ate the fruit first and that started everything. Yet here, as a continuation of verse 6, we see that it was not until after Adam ate of the fruit that their “eyes were opened.”

Since it was Adam that received the command to not eat of the fruit from God, it was Adam that was accountable. The punishment didn’t kick in until *he* ate of the fruit. This doesn’t make Eve blameless, since she did receive the command from Adam, but it was Adam’s sin that changed their nature. This is re-inforced by the Apostle Paul in Romans 5:12, “…just as through one man, sin entered the world…”
