Note the phrase “last days” at the end of this verse. Jacob does not say, “I [will] tell you that which shall befall you in the days to come”, but “that which shall befall you in the last days.”
Is this merely an old idiom that means “the future” or was he, as we certainly believe he was in the case of Judah, speaking prophetically here in regards to all his sons.
Note that he calls all the sons together, and publicly shares his visions, whether blessing or cursing, before the ears of all the sons.

I was fascinated by the phrase “The last days”. This was a prophetic statement concerning what shall come to pass. God in His sovereign wisdom has revealed to His servant what is to come in latter times. He spoke into their future as God let him see. He guided them through the future that is yet unknown to them. How wonderful it will be for everyone of us to have a glimpse into what our future holds for us.Most of us struggle all of our lives searching for every truth about our lives and what the future holds for us. May the Holy Spirit help us to understand who we are and what God Has destined us to become.
