Tractorman, well sad indeed! It is normal human (mortal) behavior to be impatinet, if if it comes to God’s Rapture. You hit the mark with “But seriously, if you DO find any of these ‘Campingites’, ask them to sign all of their possessions over to you on Friday night, because obviously they will NOT need them anymore - I would say you will not get one taker”. Also Jehovah’s Witnesses have a track-record predicting dates. In 1975 many of them sold their possessions and donated it to the money hungry Watchtower Society.

Very well written, Tractorman. I can’t believe how any reasonable person can follow this pre-kindergarten math. If “seven days” means 7,000 years, then “forty days and forty nights” mean 40,000 years, right? So, per Camping’s math, this world will be over this year but Noah’s flood will continue for another 33,000 years!!!

It amazes me the number of ‘end-times’ speculators who are always looking for some ’secret clue’ in scripture to predict the Rapture. These are JUDGMENT verses of God upon sinful mankind.

Can’t we just take Jesus at His word that ‘no man knows the day or the hour’ and stop trying to ‘get cute’ thinking He was teasing us (nudge, nudge, wink, wink) that we really COULD know but just had to ‘look for the secret clues’.

I, for one, do not at all take Camping’s predictions seriously. He is a FALSE prophet if ever there was one. He predicted the same thing back in 1994.

But just in case, I am practicing my ‘rapture jump’ to time it with the return of Jesus. I am starting off with the lowest step on my back porch so as not to hurt myself before May 21st. So far, so good. I hope that by this Saturday to work my way up to ‘garage height’ (that way I’m closer to Jesus), perfectly timing my jump with the ‘blessed event’.

But, I’m not THAT strong in my confidence it will happen, so I’m going to jump towards one of the blue spruces next to the garage just in case I’m wrong.

Oh, oh - I’m also maxing out all my credit cards too!

Harold Camping and others have used this verse and a combination of others to predict that doomsday will occur on May 21, 2011. Is there anybody on this forum who takes this prediction seriously?
