Jason,
So,Science didn’t save the Skeptics.Isn’t it?
The Bible tells in Heb.11:7.”By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of HIS HOUSE,by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of righteousness which is by FAITH.”

The skeptics did not escape the flood but perished in the waters of God’s wrath. In my mind I can picture them clawing at the outside of the Ark, but it was too late.

Gen.2:5.”…..for the LORD GOD had not caused it to rain upon the earth..”
Gen.7:11,12.”In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life,in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up,and the windows of heaven were opened. And the rain was ypon the earth forty days and forty nights.”
Dear Jason,I accept your view that the skeptics of Noah’s day might have proved easily & scientifically that the worldwide flood was impossible!
Jesus has quoted about the flood in the Gospels.Matt.24:37-39& Luke 17:26,27.
“And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away……” Matt.24:39.
Jason,Did the skeptics escape the flood?

No doubt the skeptics in Noah’s day had proved, scientifically, that a world wide flood was impossible.
