dear charles:
thank you for your forgiveness as well as your friendship. we may be on opposite sides but i can say i see you as a friend and a brother in our lord and saviour jesus christ. and that goes out to everyone here seeking the truth in our lord jesus christ. for the greatest commandment is to love all as we love ourselves and as we love GOD ( sorry it just doesn’t feel right to make this word lower case ) with all our heart and soul.

Dear Michael, I read your posts 29-32 and I thank you for your conciliatory tone. You set a good example.

In answer to your questions in post 31, I am afraid we disagree a lot, but that shouldn’t be a reason for discord. I was born and raised as a Bible-toting Catholic. As I grew up questionning things I slowly began to realize that the Bible is not in sync with reality and even contradicts itself many times. Now, can God contradict himself? Of course not! So if God can’t contradict himself and the Bible does, then it follows that the Bible is not his word. That’s where we disagree.

Let me tell you for example what my take is on something you said: “Malachi 3:6 says ‘I the LORD do not change’ that means his attitude doesn’t change his mind doesn’t change and his word does not change.” See, I read the Bible many times and I can’t accept this to be true. In the Torah we have a god who is easily angered and quite vindictive, but protects his people - and only his people, to the point of conducting one genocide after another. This god starts to change with the psalms and later writings, and, by the time Jesus comes along, he is a loving and forgiving God. So I see a god that DOES change quite a bit. His attitude changes. His mind changes. Everything with God changes.

This website welcomes ALL opinions, but some erroneously believe that only Bible apologists have a right to be here. These people tend to get offensive and angry at someone like me. I’ve been called all sorts of names. Some even went as far as looking me up on the internet in an attempt to dig out something bad about me so they could attack me personally and discredit me publicly. I can’t understand how Christians can behave this way, but, obviously, some do.

The Bible has been a great part of my life and most of my relationships and daily chores are affected greatly by it. So I can’t ignore it. That’s why I’m here. Now you can (a) attack me viciously like some have (but I know you are not that kind of person), (b) treat me like some wayward child (that of course does no good), (c) engage me in debate, or (d) ignore me. Hopefully you will do (c) or (d).

Thank you my friend (post 33). You are funny, and of course I say that in a complementary way (in this country that is a nice thing to say to a friend).

Take care, and I’ll try to read everything, even the long ones!

dear buddy charles:

I AM SORRY I JUST FIND IT SO MUCH EASIER TO TYPE WITH ALL CAPITAL LETTERS INSTEAD OF TRYING TO ALWAYS PUNCTUATE RIGHT AND SO FORTH. IF YOU PREFER I WILL TYPE IN LOWER CASE LETTERS FOR I DO NOT WISH TO OFFEND OR HURT ANYONE’S FEELINGS AS IF I AM TRYING TO BE A DOMINATE VOICE. SUCH AS IN SHOUTING.

so from here on i shall type in lower case letters but don’t expect me to type small comments. that is one thing i won’t sacrifice. well maybe.

so once again i apologize with all sincerity.

I heard this cool verse about what I was talking about in commentary 29-31

1 Corinthians 3

1And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.

2I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.

3For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?

just think about it for a while
