1)In the book of Hebrews,the Levitical priesthood & the eternal priesthood were compared & contrasted with respect to three matters.(i)place of ministry (ii)Nature of sacrifices offered (iii)effectiveness of the ministry.
2)In Hebrews 8:1-6,the place of sanctuary is focussed for the attention of the readers.The writer of Hebrews tries to prove that the priesthood of Jesus Christ is of higher order than the Levitical priests as Jesus Christ ministers in the better sanctuary than the Levitical priests ministered in.
3)Jesus Christ’s ministry is in the sanctuary and of the true tabernacle which the Lord erected,and not man.Heb.8:2.
Heb.9:11.But Christ,being come an high priest of good things to come,by a greater & more perfect tabernacle,not made with hands,not of this building.
Heb.9:24.For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands,
which are the figures of the true;but into heaven itself,now to appear in the presence of God for us.
4)Kings,rulers & dignitaries of State rule & administer from places of lofted positions & settings.Jesus Christ is seated on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in Heaven.(Heb.8:1)He ministers as our High Priest making intercession for us.Rom.8;34;Heb.7;25;1 John 2:1.Read Is.53:12.He rules & administers in the exalted position of majesty,honor & power.He ministers as High Priest as well.(King-Priest)
5)The place Jesus ministers is called the true tabernacle.The Levitical priests served in is the copy of it-an earthly tabernacle.The true tabernacle was not man made.Anything made by man will have imperfections,
faults & flaws.Jesus ministers in the more perfect tabernacle than the Levitical priests ministered in.The size of the tabernacle in which Jesus ministers is also greater than the Levitical priests ministered in.
6)Look down from heaven;and behold from the habitation of thy holiness & of thy glory.Is.63:15
The heaven is a holy place.It is a beautiful place.It is a glorious place.
7)Read John 14:2,3.Jesus is coming again to take us to heaven.
