One Bible Commentary on Hebrews 9: 3

1

The Holiest of all is also called the Most Holy Place.(Ex26:33).The Second veil is the one which divides the Holy Place and the Most Holy Place. The first veil is the hanging for the door at the entrance of the Holy Place.
(Ex.26:36;36:35)The Second veil is made of blue, and purple and scarlet and
fine linen of cunning work with Cherubims. It was hung upon four pillars of shittim wood overlaid with gold upon four sockets of silver.(Ex.26:31,
32;36:35,36).
The materials used for making the tabernacle point to Christ.Shittim wood speaks of His humanity and gold His deity.Silver represents our redemption in Christ. The four color in the veil represent Christ as follows:Blue-
God;Purple-King;Scarlet-Suffering Servant;White-Man.The four Gospel writers
present Christ from four angles,Matthew as King,Mark as Suffering Servant,
Luke as Man and John as God.He is King as Kings and Lord of Lords. He is God who came in the flesh to pay the penalty for our sins on the Cross.
In the Court of the Tabernacle there was natural light. In the Holy Place there was light from the Golden Lamp Stand and in the Holy of Holies there was no light.God is Spirit.(John 4:24).God is light.(I John 1:5).God chose the place above the Mercy Seat in between the Cherubims as His dwelling place.(Lev.16:2)
I Cor.6:19.What?Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God,and ye are not your own?
I Cor3;16.Know ye not that ye are the temple of God,and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
