3 Bible Commentaries on Isaiah 9: 6
JESUS CHRIST MIGHTY GOD
Mighty God is one of Jesus name as revealed in Isaiah 9:6. And in the New Testament -the second documentary proof of God’s dealing & existence, this uses the words of Isaiah 9 with regards to Jesus mission & purpose on earth:
“Now when he heard that John had been arrested, he withdrew into Galilee. And leaving Nazareth he went and lived in Capernaum by the sea, in the territory of Zebulun and Naphtali, so that what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah might be fulfilled: ‘The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, the way of the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles–the people dwelling in darkness have seen a great light, and for those dwelling in the region and shadow of death, on them a light has dawned.’ From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, ‘Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.’” Matthew 4:12-17.
Jesus the Prince of Peace, King of Kings and as revealed MIGHTY GOD! Some will disagree that Jesus is God, since He was born & died.Could God die as Candace & everyone would asked? But that is the mystery that we human cannot fathom well with our limited knowledge & wisdom. The apostle to the Gentile St. Paul said:
1 Timothy 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
Did we see that? GOD WAS MANIFEST IN THE FLESH! Could such a thing happen that God would dwell in a mortal body through birth then be crucified to pay for his own earthly brethren sins to save them? If Jesus was a mere man would God allow Him to sit at His right hand as a King of Kings?
Mark 16:19 After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven and he sat at the right hand of God.
John 1:14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
Could the scriptures be in error in declaring Jesus as Mighty God? Is Charles F. & Robert L. right(two commentator here) when they tell us that the Bible if full of contradictions and choose only the verse they want to believe in?
Romans 3:4 Not at all! Let God be true, and every man a liar. As it is written: “So that you may be proved right when you speak and prevail when you judge.”
Could Jesus be the Mighty God? Is it wrong to call Him God? Let Jesus answer us with the word He spoke when the Jews accuse Him of making Himself equal to God:
John 10: 34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, You are gods?
John 10:35 If he called them ‘gods,’ to whom the word of God came–and the Scripture cannot be broken–
John 10:36 Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?
Psalm 82:6 “I said, ‘You are “gods”; you are all sons of the Most High.’
John 8:17 In your own Law it is written that the testimony of two men is valid.
John 12:34 The crowd spoke up, “We have heard from the Law that the Christ will remain forever, so how can you say, ‘The Son of Man must be lifted up’? Who is this ‘Son of Man’?”
Romans 3:19 Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God.
1 Corinthians 14:21 In the Law it is written: “Through men of strange tongues and through the lips of foreigners I will speak to this people, but even then they will not listen to me,” says the Lord.
As Jesus Himself said: ” I and the Father are one.”
Jesus Everlasting Father-MIGHTY GOD! Without sin-the Lamb of God-happy are those who believes in Him!
Romans 16:25 Now to him who is able to establish you by my gospel and the proclamation of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery hidden for long ages past,
Romans 16:26 but now revealed and made known through the prophetic writings by the command of the eternal God, so that all nations might believe and obey him–

Isaiah does not talk about Jesus. If he meant Jesus, he would have said so. People who claim things that are not in the Bible are unbelievers.
The Bible says what it says, not what unbelievers wish it would have or should have or could have said.
