Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:

Question: This verse tells us that God doesn’t tempt us. Has God stopped tempting us after Jesus gave his life for us? In the OT is written that God tempted Abraham: “And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham…” (Genesis 22:1)
Maybe someone can answer this.

God is holy or pure in the absolute sense. He cannot be tempted to act contrary to his ultimate standard of holiness. In his case, no form of evil has any seductive power. The Almighty does not tempt humans or seductively try to lead them into wrongdoing. While he did test or try Abraham, God did not do so with evil. The testing or trial involved Abraham’s faith. It did not have as its objective to determine whether Abraham could be tempted or induced to act in a morally corrupt way.
An individual’s own reaction to a difficult situation can create the temptation to resort to improper means to free himself. The person who yields to the wrong desire, instead of looking to God to sustain him in his suffering or affliction, should not claim that God tempted him. With divine assistance, the individual could have endured the distressing circumstances. Therefore, as James 1:13 indicates, the person who is being tempted to respond in a sinful way should not attribute this to God.
