It is not only the point of applying higher standard of evaluation, there will be greater condemnation as well. Soft words need not play down the gravity of the issue involved and of the punishment!

James speaks to a group of believers. My friends in Christ, do not many of you long to become teachers or instructors of God’s Word. God will evaluate us by a higher standard.
