Job 38: 14 Commentary

1)In Job 38:1-40:2,God spoke to Job.God asked him many questions.Job was finally satisfied on seeing God.Job 42.
2)The Book of Job was written more than 1000 years before Christ’s coming.It is classified as “Wisdom Literature.”
3)”It is changed like a clay to the seal”-(Amp).It indicates the rotation of the Earth on its axis.A clay pot was turned on a wheel to receive the impression of the seal.When the Earth receives the light from the Sun,it will be like a multiple colored garment.
4)It was universally accepted until the 16th century that the Earth was the center of the universe & the Moon,Sun & the other five known planets at that time were revolving around the Earth.Ptolemy,an Egyptian Astronomer,
has evolved this theory, known as Ptolemaic or geocentric system, in the 2nd century.
5)Nicholus Copernicus was a Polish astronomer of the 16th century.He evolved
the Copernican or heliocentric theory.As per his theory,the Sun is near the center of the Universe & the Earth & the other planets are revolving around the Sun.He stated that the Earth is just a planet spinning on its axis daily & makes one complete revolution around the Sun once a year.
6)Long before Copernicus has discovered about the earth’s rotation on its axis,the Bible has stated that fact in poetic expression.
7)The Bible is not a Book of Science.But is in agreement with the scientifically proved facts.It is the Word of God.We may not have fully
understood the meanings of all the verses.Please read Deut.29:29.But it has an important message to tell us-the message of salvation of man from sins.
