REMEMBER TO always respect God-
GOD OUR HEAVENLY FATHER LOVES US WITHOUT END AND WITHOUT EQUAL but let us not abuse that Love. A lesson on how abusing the love of a father is found in the old testament and the consequences thereof…

The evidences of a “dishonorable” child were public, and thus the persistently and willfully rebellious child was to be disciplined (executed) in a public ceremony:

“If any man has a stubborn and rebellious son who will not obey his father or his mother, and when they chastise him, he will not even listen to them, then his father and mother shall seize him, and bring him out to the elders of his city at the gateway of his home town. And they shall say to the elders of his city, ‘This son of ours is stubborn and rebellious, he will not obey us, he is a glutton and a drunkard.’ Then all the men of his city shall stone him to death; so you shall remove the evil from your midst, and all Israel shall hear of it and fear” (Deut. 21:18-21).25

All believers are “sons of God.” When sons disobey their parents they receive discipline, but their parents do not disown them. When believers disobey God they receive discipline, but God the Father does not disown them because of Jesus Christ.

But, some of the Jews did believe in Jesus as God the Messiah. To them Jesus Christ gave the power or right to be sons of God, that is, members of the Royal Family of God. Anyone who believes in salvation through Jesus Christ has the same power or right to be a member of the Royal Family of God.

Patrick (Post #1): Well said! Salvation is as simple as saying to Jesus, “Lord, remember me . . .” (Luke 23:42-43). Indeed, a few words can “produce a massively powerful result.”

It seems that here God makes the offer to those who might believe in Him that the act of assent (in almost any degree) will generate a power to become a true beneficiary of Divine Grace, to participate in the actuality of God’s existence. Faith (in any degree - doubt in one’s doubt, admission of a possibility, even, for instance, acceptance of a Jungian recognition of the human unconscious as the seat of a Divine Archetype providing the conduit or means of communicating with Divinity) acts like the Einstein formula E=mc2(square), in that a very small input can produce a massively powerful output. In the result, God demands extremely little and offers quite a lot. It all depends on a simple, minimal, inclination to seek him out which can acquire for us all creation.
