1. All mankind is given GENERAL revelation
a. Upon entering the world that God is real
b. And that mankind is accountable to Him
2. Paul writes of this in his epistle to the Romans
a. For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse (Rom 1:20 ESV)
3. I believe this verse puts a face to a name
a. That it is JESUS Himself
b. Who is the One enlightening all men
c. With GENERAL revelation
4. We understand that the LAW
a. Is written on the hearts
b. Of ALL men
5. Men intuitively KNOW that such things
a. As murder, rape, theft
b. And lying are WRONG
6. All the world’s religions in fact
a. Are BUILT around
b. This knowledge of LAW
7. But the GOSPEL must be proclaimed
a. For it is NOT intuitively obvious
b. Through observing nature
c. Or looking up at the stars
8. Thus was John SENT
a. To bear witness of Jesus
