Here Jesus is saying that the Torah is forever true, and that heaven and earth will collapse before a single letter of the Torah given to Moses becomes no longer true. Those who say that Christians are not bound to follow the Law and give up eating bacon and shrimp or not engage in pre-marital relations should read this. It is impossible to understand many of the circumstances Jesus’s words without understanding his devotion to the Eternal Law, the Torah.
