You are right Jerry! Sometimes I mix up Bible figures; I meant Salomon who began to worship the pagan gods of his wives. This is sad, because he started as a wise and godly king. Read 1 Kings chapter 11 if you want to know more about Salomon’s apostasy.
Domenico, I want to remind you that Jesus himself and all of his apostles where also Sons of Israel!

Saul would have had far less blood on his hands as only 85 adult men were killed as opposed to the hundreds, possibly thousands of infants and toddlers born in the period Herod was having them killed. The crime can only be said to be worse in that those killed were priests and that the man doing it was one who had started out righteous. Herod, on the other hand, was wicked from start to finish. Saul fell from a great hight while Herod barely stubbed his evil toe.

1samuel 21 17 And the king said unto the footmen that stood about him, Turn, and slay the priests of the LORD; because their hand also is with David, and because they knew when he fled, and did not shew it to me. But the servants of the king would not put forth their hand to fall upon the priests of the LORD.
18 And the king said to Doeg, Turn thou, and fall upon the priests. And Doeg the Edomite turned, and he fell upon the priests, and slew on that day fourscore and five persons that did wear a linen ephod.
19 And Nob, the city of the priests, smote he with the edge of the sword, both men and women, children and sucklings, and oxen, and asses, and sheep, with the edge of the sword.

Amanda,
Saul never committed idolatry. Perhaps you’re thinking of when he sought to speak with Samuel via the witch?

I agree, Domenico, that a gay parade in Israel isn’t according to God’s will. But in the time of the old Israel, Israel was clearly God’s Nation although the Kings of Israel didn’t always follow God’s will (Saul who worshipped pagan gods, David who committed adultery).
What do you think abut Israel, Domenico?

The parable of the fig tree (read also verse 29) is not found in the other Gospels, but in the OT, Israel is referred to as a fig tree. The generation of people who witness the fig tree bearing leaves (Israel becoming a nation) will not pass away until Jesus Christ returns. Israel became a nation in 1948, which leads to the conclusion that the generation born in 1948 will live to see Jesus Christ
return.
So you and I can witness the return of Christ as King!
