1)Correction in commentary 1:Because of the unfaithfulness of the people in keeping the marriage vows,God did not accept the sacrifices of the people & the blessings are withheld.Mal.2:13.(Last sentence in serial number 1 of that commentary)
2)”To obey is better than sacrifice,and to hearken than the fat of rams.”1 Sam.15:22.As Saul has rejected the word of the Lord,God has rejected him from being king.Read 1 Sam.15:23
3)”The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord.”Pro.15:8.
4)Isaiah has said that because of the sins of the people,God did not delight in their sacrifices.Read Is.1:11-18.
5)Hosea has said that because of the iniquity & the sins of the people,God did not accept their sacrifices & offerings.Read Hosea 8:13.
6)From Amos 5:21-27,we can find that God did not accept the sacrifices & offerings because of the disobedience of the people of Israel.
7)The reasonable service is to offer our bodies as a living sacrifice holy,acceptable unto God.Romans 12:1.

1)At the time of writing the Book of Malachi,divorces were common among the Jews.They married foreigners in violation of the law & abomination has been committed.Mal.2:11.Read Ezra 9,10 & Nehemiah 13.Because of the unfaithfulness of the people in keeping the marriage vows,God did accept their offerings & the blessings were withheld.
2)Marriage was established by God.Gen.1:27;2:24.Marriage is honorable & the bed undefiled.Heb.13:4.The Bible strongly condemns the sins of fornication & adultery.1 Cor.5:11;6:9,10.Gal.5:19-21.
3)The Biblical counsel for marriage is:”Be not unequally yoked with unbelievers.”2 Cor.6:14.The marriage partners must commit themselves to God if it has to last long.Jesus Christ must be the foundation for the family.
1Cor.3:11.They must have living relationship with Christ by accepting Him as their Savior & Lord.
4)Marriage is not like a contract between two persons for a certain period of time.It is a holy covenant made between the husband & the wife in the presence of God,who is a witness.Mal.2:14.In a wedlock,the husband & the wife made commitment to each other.It is a life-long commitment.Marriage vows have to be kept.Marriage relationships have to be honored.
5)There are breakdown in marriages because of the violation of Biblical principles.The remedy is to turn to Christ.Restoration is possible.He is the answer to the problems.
