1)God has planned to fill the earth with people through the union of one couple,Adam & Eve.Gen.1:26-28;2:24;Acts 17:26.God blessed the first couple to be fruitful & multiply & replenish the earth.Gen.1:28.
2)Malachi must have referred to Gen.2:24.Man is united with woman & they become one flesh.God created man & woman on the 6th day of creation & blessed them.Gen.1:26-28;2:7,22;5:2.Matt.19:4;Mark 10:6.God did not make many women for one man.Jesus Christ quoted Gen.2:24 when there was an argument about divorce.See Matt.19:2-97 Mark 10:2-9.Polygamy is forbidden in the Scriptures.
3)The purpose of marriage is companionship,fulfillment & reproduction.God’s intention is that godly seed is produced through the marriage of a man with a woman.Sex was created before the entrance of sin & there is no sin in that.The wrong use of sex is sin.Husbands & wives must be faithful to each other.They must enjoy the blessings of family life within the boundary of marriage.1 Cor.6:16-18;7;2;2 Tim 2:22;1 Thes.4:3-5.
4)Joseph has the fear of God & honored marriage relationship & did not yield to sin.Gen.39:6-12.Job has strong determination to be faithful in the marriage relationship.Job 31:1.Joseph & Job are good examples to follow.
