One Bible Commentary on Mark 1: 40

1

1)There are instances in the Old Testament that leprosy came because of God’s judgment.
i)King Uzziah was a successful king as long as he sought the Lord.
2 Chr.26:5.But God judged him because of his loftiness & was affected by leprosy & he was a leper until his death.2 Chr.26:19-21.
ii)Gheazi, the servant of Elisha, became a leper as a judgment of God because of fraud & lust for material things.2 kings 5:26,27
2)We read of four leprous men at the entering in of the gate of Samaria.
2 kings 7:3.I heard in one of the messages of a famous preacher & Christian leader that one of those 4 lepers might be Gheazi & that he was healed of leprosy & so he entered into the palace & talked with the king as mentioned in 2 Kings 8:4.It is wonderful.
3)Please read commentaries for Matt.8:2 & Luke 5:12
