I’ve seen visitors of TV evangelist…wearing too many precious ornaments on their neck, their hands and on their ears…they say JESUS LOVE YOU! While every act they made on TV was to show off their precious ornaments…they preached the PROSPERITY GOSPEL! I’ve seen the greediness and pretense in local churches too…where a pastor visits the rich members and forget the poor members…and that from a preacher of God’s Word….whose God is their belly…One pastor whom I asked about Jesus, quickly answered my questions showing non interest on it. He however asked me how much my salary was and where did I worked? Seemed that he was more interested in money than feeding the flock…

Yet another verse that the cold hearted Republicans need to read..again and again…”there is another reason for selling our possesions, to give the money from the selling to the poor… If we want to feed them we cannot store lots of food for ourselves… God forbid if someone tried to explain this passage to a Republican, ( especially a Tea Party Republican) they would think you were out of your mind. They have NO intentions caring for the poor, the disabled, or the elderly… they despies them, and they blame them for being poor, disabled, elderly, ect. Jesus was all about caring for the poor.. how can this country continue to allow these Lying politicians who claim to be so religious and have a inside track when it comes to God and Jesus, yet they are so selfish and mean spirited… Trump..Ghram…Ryan,,come on…send them emails, call them, do something because their hate is killing America as we know it….Their heart is full of darkness along with their greed and cold hearts. They know nothing about Jesus and what he stood for… tell them to stop Bible thumping like they know what it says when they don’t. Where are the true Christians?? Where at the people who KNOW what Jesus taught? NO ONE is speaking out to them to say they are just plain wrong! Those who don’t speak out are just as wrong as those Republicans who are putting out lies and quoteing the Bible incorrectly and telling stories that are NOT true and claiming them to be the teaching of Jesus
Can one make a figurative interpretion of this verse? Is it possible that Jesus means that he should sell everything in his heart, so that he can have God there instead, but still keep the goods? While Jesus says in Mt 6:19 that our heart will be where our tresure is, we simply cannot have our heart in heaven if we have treasures on earth, that is, wealth. Therefore a rich man must sell what he have for having a treasure in heaven, and Jesus also told His disciples to do the same (Lk 12:33), which they did (Acts 2 & 4). There is beside getting a treasure in heaven also another reason for selling our possesions; to give the money from the selling to the poor. If we want to feed them, we cannot store lots of food for ourselves (Ezek 16:49, Lk 3:10, 1 Jn 3:17)

To Dalton…I presume you also practice medicine without a license. God always deals with the heart and so everything else will fall into place. Perhaps you should check your heart and in so doing gain a complete understanding of who Jesus is. He is love and the poor you will have with you always, not because it’s his will but because it’s their will. The question is what is in your life that prevents God from being first and foremost in your heart. Job,Abrahamm,Jacob,David, and others are all great men of faith were wealthy and never became poor for the sake of the poor. Jesus became poor for all of us to change the poverty of our spirit not our pocket book.
