One Bible Commentary on Mark 7: 14

1

In Matthew 7:14-23,Jesus has described what really defiles a man.Read Matt.
15:10-20 also. After rebuking the religious leaders,Jesus called all the people and told them the “parable”.
Then Jesus entered into the house and was with his disciples. In Matthew,we find that the disciples had hinted Jesus that the Pharisees were offended by His words. He said that the plant that was not planted by His heavenly Father would be rooted out. They were only blind leaders leading the blind people.Matt.15:11-14.Then Peter asked Jesus to explain the parable told by Jesus to the people.Matt.15:15.
Jesus explained that anything that entered into men could not defile him.The problem of man is in the heart. He listed 13 evil things which come from within & defile the man.
(i)Evil thoughts (ii)adulteries (iii)fornications (iv)murders (v)thefts (vi)covetousness (vii)wickedness (viii)deceit (ix)lasciviousness (x)an evil eye (xi)blasphemy (xii)pride (xiii) foolishness.
Read Rom.1:29-31;Gal.5:19-21.
“The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked.Who can know it?” Jer.17:9.Read Matt.5:8;23:25-28.
What does God expect from us?Outward cleansing or inward cleansing?
“The blood of Jesus Christ his son cleanseth us from all sin?”1 John 1:7.
Read 1 Cor.6:11;2 Cor.5:17;1John1:9
