1. This is similar to Jesus’ earthly scope of ministry
a. But He answered (the Syro-Phoenician woman) and said, “I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” (Matt 15:24)
2. This is in keeping with the order of the spread of the gospel
a. For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek (Rom 1:16)
3. I think one thing we can take away from this verse
a. Is that there is plenty of work to be done
b. Right in our own backyards
c. And among our own people
4. There is no doubt that foreign missions are needed
a. But our LOCAL fields
b. Are ALSO white with harvest
