1. The disciples were given miraculous powers
a. In order to VALIDATE their ministries
b. That the Kingdom of God was here
2. Notice that these miracles
a. Are all POSITIVE in nature
b. As opposed to DESTRUCTIVE in nature
3. Notice also that these miracles
a. Were for the benefit of OTHERS
b. And not for the disciples
4. These gifts of Jesus reveal the HEART of God
a. That He is COMPASSIONATE
b. And CARING of others
5. Those receiving these miracles
a. Would be directed
b. To praise GOD
c. And NOT the disciples
6. These gifts were FREELY given to the disciples
a. And were to be freely given to others
7. The disciples were not to make a profit off the people
a. By charging them for healings and exorcisms
b. Like the professional exorcists of the day
8. They were to heal all who needed it
a. Without expectation of monetary payment
9. This was FURTHER authentication
a. Of Jesus’ authority and power as Israel’s Messiah
b. Over sickness, disease, death and demons
