Just want to share will you some insight! Jesus hear is talking about yoke and burdend.Yes your right in a sense but looking at a person like me who’s worked well with iniquity and the yoke it had on me. Jesus is calling for those who labour in toil in the world to be save have a big burdend if they don’t come by him.Because labouring in the law of mosaic was burdensome and the pharisees had manufactured hundreds of additional burdens related to keeping the law and without help this yoke was impossible to carry. But Jesus comes in sayes come to me all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. I will help you with my requirment! Take my yoke upon you and learn of me:meaning the requirment of Jesus are learn through the word of God; For I am meek and lowly in heart:Meaning he knows your short falls and sympathy with you:and ye shall find rest unto your souls. He help us with the thing that keep us living in him:For my yoke is easy, now compare to the state of mind i was in without the knowlege of Jesus I have to say it not compareable to know Jesus christ him crucified and resuscitated for our sin he did all the hard work: that why his burden is light:meaning able to hand the truth. thank you
It is still a yoke, it is still a burden. But compared to the alternative, it is an easy yoke and a light burden.
Taking upon us Christ’s name still requires us to do something, to carry our share of the load, but it is a good load, a worthwhile cause, a satisfying work to be involved in.
