“the Christ”-the Greek word is “Christos”;the Hebrew word is “Messiah”.
Meaning=”Anointed one” or”Anointed”[Please see my commentary on Heb.9:11 more on this]
Andrew & Simon Peter were brothers.They were sons of Jona(John=common name)
Both were fishers of men.(Matt.4:18).Bethsaida is their home town.(John 1:44).Later Peter settled in Capernaum.(Matt.8:14;Mark 1:30;Luke 4:38)with
family(See I Cor.9:5).Andrew was formerly a disciple of John the Baptist.
(John 1:35-37).He first found his brother & said,”We have found the Messias
(Messiah)”which is being interpreted”the Christ” & brought him to Jesus.
Jesus told Peter “Thou art Simon,the son of Jona,thou shalt be called Cephas,which is by interpretation stone.”Simon is a common Greek name.There might have been many by the name Simon.His name is mentioned as Simeon in Acts 15:14.Cephas is Aramaic.Greek form of Cephas is Petros,a rock.(Latin, Petrus).Please read I Cor.1:12;3:22;9:5&15:5.

The word Messias (Messiah) is found in John 4:25 also in the story of the Samaritan woman.John 4:25,26:The woman said to him “I know that Messiah is coming (who is called Christ);when He comes,He will tell all things.”Jesus said to her,”I who speak to you am He.”The woman went into the city & testified Jesus Christ.he went & preached there for two days.many believed in Him because of the testimony of the woman & the word of Jesus Christ.Thus said of Jesus,”This is indeed the Christ,the Saviour of the world.”(John 4:42.Apostle John says in John 4:14 “And we have seen and testify that the father has sent the Son as Saviour of the world.Jesus is the Messiah,
predicted in the Old Testament.He is the Saviour of the world.See Luke 1:47;
