When Jesus was trying before Pilate,He said”My Kingdom is not of this world.
If My kingdom were of this world,My servants would fight,so that I should not be delivered to the Jews;but now My kingdom is not from here.”Pilate asked,”Are you a King then?”Jesus answered,”You say rightly that I am a King. For this cause I was born, for this cause I have come into the world.”Read John 18:33-37.
Please read these verses.Mark 10:45;Luke 5:32;19:10;I John 3:8;Heb.2:14.God had a salvation program.Jesus has to come into the world to give His life as ransom to redeem man.He has to taste death for everyone. He came to destroy the devil & the works of the devil by His death. Those who are redeemed become the children of God.(John1:12;I John 5:1;3:2).The church constitutes all the believers (Jews & Gentiles)who are saved by the grace of God.Jesus did not come to build a political kingdom. He spoke about the Kingdom of God in his teachings. His purpose was to prepare people for the Heavenly Kingdom.Satan always tried to frustrate the plan of God & prevent building the Kingdom of God.Peter was not mindful of things of God.He only thought about building a kingdom for the Jews in this world. Satan worked through Peter who told that He should not go through the path of suffering & death.
He did not understand the spiritual things. So Jesus had to rebuke Him.
