in Matthew 27:9 is recorded a quotation from the Old Testament which names Jeremiah the prophet as being the author of this quotation but actually it was Zechariah who said these words and the quote is found in Zech. 11:12,13.
This is one of those favorite verses the Atheists use as a proof text that the Bible is full of errors, this being one of them.
But this is not the case at all. It was common among the New Testament Isrealites to refer to the Old Testament as being in 3 parts… The Law;
The Psalms; and Jeremiah… Jeremiah being representative of all the prophets.

The Revelation of John was written in Greek… hence the words of Christ referring to Himself in the Greek words Alpha and Omega…
” I am the Alpha and the Omega ” Rev 1:8
In Rev. 13:18 we read…
” Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man: His number is six hundred and sixty-six. ”
In this verse we have the very name of the beast given under the symbol of the number 666. Before the invention of figures by the Arabs, in the tenth century, letters of the alphabet were used for numbers. The Greeks in the time of Homer, or soon after, are thought by some to have assigned to their letters a numerical value corresponding to their order in the alphabet: thus, ‘ a ‘ was 1, because it is the first letter; and ‘ w ‘ was 24, being the last.
This method of representing numbers or letters of the alphabet, gave rise to a practice among the ancients of representing names also by numbers.
Examples of this kind abound in the writings of heathens, Jews, and Christians. Where the practice of counting the number in names or phrases began first to be used, cannot be ascertained; it is sufficient for the illustration of the passage under consideration, if it can be shown to have been in existence in the apostolic age.
The system now in use cannot be traced to any very ancient source. What can be proved is, that it was in use before the commencement of the Christian era. Numerical letters, denoting the year of the Roman emperor’s reign, exist on great numbers of the Egyptian coins, from the time of Augustus Caesar through the succeeding reigns.
It was a practice in the apostolic age, and subsequently, to count the number in words and phrases, and even in whole verses, it will be evident that what is intended by 666 is, that the Greek name of the beast (for it was in the Greek language that Jesus Christ communicated his revelation to St. John) contains this number.
Many names have been proposed from time to time as applicable to the beast, and at the same time containing 666. We will only notice one example, viz., that famous one of Irenaeus, which has been approved of by almost all commentators who have given any sort of tolerable exposition of the Revelation.
The word alluded to is lateinov, the letters of which have the following numerical values: l 30, a 1, t 300, e 5, i 10, n 50, o 70, v 200; and if these be added together, the sum will be found to be equivalent to the number of the beast… 666

666 = ” The Latin Kingdom ”
No other kingdom on earth can be found to contain 666.
The meaning of the whole passage is, that those whom the false prophet does not excommunicate, or put out of the pale of his Church, have the mark of the beast, that is, are genuine papists, or such as are actively or passively obedient to his Latin idolatry.
By a person having the name of the beast is evidently meant his being a Latin, i.e., in subjection to the Latin empire, and, consequently an individual of the Latin world; therefore those that have the name of the beast, or the number of his name, are those that are subjects of the Latin empire, or of the numbered Latin empire, viz., who are in subjection to the Latin empire, secular or spiritual.
The Church of Rome evidences it’s blasphemous worship of Mary as Co-Redeemer, referring in their Catechism to her as the ” Queen of Heaven. ”
Satan has been developing Asherah worship since the Fall. Asherah is the Mother Goddess or Eve worship began in ancient times since she is the Mother of all Living ( Gen. 3:20 ) who brings Life and is thus the demonic copy of the Tree of Life in the Garden man could not otherwise attain.
Symbols of Asherah worship is a wooden pole or grove of trees which attempts to duplicate the Garden of Eden setting… in which the Tree of Life was located. Similarly, to invoke the power of the Tree of Life, which is eternal life ( Gen. 3:22 ) the ministers of
Asherah- Eve worship set up their copies of the Garden of Eden in
” High Places “… an attempt at a copy of the Garden of God which was located on a high place. ( Gen 2:10 ) ( rivers flow from higher elevations to lower elevations due to gravity. compare Ez. 28:14 )
The Rosary was passed to a Catholic Monk, St. Dominic, who beat himself into a coma over a 3 day period ( Masochism… the inflicting of injury to self for sexual passion with self ) in
a ‘ grove of trees ‘ ( Asherah ), had a visitation from none other than the Virgin Mary herself, who gave him the Rosary and promised eternal life to all who would pray to her.
The visit was with Satan himself disguised as an angel of light, directing this masochist pervert to pass on the Rosary to worshippers so they may receive eternal Life through him.
Remarkably, when Satan tempted Christ, he took Him to a ‘ High Place ”

While there is no call in the Christian Era to worship from an altar, the altars set up by Papists and others are set above the congregation… High Places.
Incense is burned, fires are lite ( candles ) cakes are made
( Eucharist ) and drink offerings are poured out ( the wine ) in Papist Masses which are all purposed copies of worship to the Queen of Heaven, not Jesus Christ, as noted in Jeremiah 44.
Satan has had global success in idolatrous worship. He has been developing female goddess worship since Eve sought to ” be like God. ”
Satan has great success in our day in Christian lands by getting worship to himself through Mary.
It appears that the Antichrist will arise out of the Church of Rome, the Latin Kingdom, via the exultation of Mary as being Eternal God.
Mary is named in the Qur’an and is declared (uniquely along with Jesus) to be a Ayat Allah or Sign of The God to mankind (23.50)
“exalted above all women of The Worlds/Universes” (3.42),
thus encompassing massive amounts of worshipers world wide.
Mary in other religions :
Some followers of non-Abrahamic religions, particularly followers of Wicca, link Mary to the Earth Mother of various Neo-pagan traditions. Some Buddhists have even been known to link Mary to Kwan-Yin, a Bodhisattva of compassion venerated by various Chinese Buddhist faiths. Followers of Santería identify Mary (as Our Lady of Regla) with the goddess Yemaja, and (as “Virgen de la Caridad del Cobre”) with Oshun.

While the Lord God has evidenced Himself as the Righteous Judge over mankind, whom He will reckon with on the Day of Judgement, a female deity is much more appealing to the carnal mind.
By promoting the gentle ways of Mary as a nurturing mother prompts the unbeliever to seek refuge in her since she promises salvation without all the condemnation that follows from Eternal God as He speaks in Word and deed as recorded in the Holy Scriptures.
A studied look at the below referenced web site reveals many startling similarities between the appearances of Mary and the mutilation of Gods Word to redirect worship to Satan through her… by using copies of Asherah worship.

We find that these appearances are in many cases, from High Places; an offer to receive eternal life is given by worship to her; a high column or pillar is a point from which she appeared denoting the Asherah column; prayers are to be directed to her as in this excerpt of her instructions…

( note the title ” Queen of Heaven ” Satan gave himself here and in Jeremiah 44 where God speaks of the ” Queen of Heaven ” )
3 reasons were given by Mary to make this statue… one reason was :
” First so that men in the future might realize how powerful I am in placating Divine Justice and obtaining mercy and pardon for every sinner who comes to me with a contrite heart. For I am the Mother of Mercy and in me there is only goodness and love. ”
It is evident from these apparitions that the most pliable and ignorant of people are those who have never opened a real Bible in their lives.
It is also well noted that Papists contend that they only have a place in heaven… and these many appearances of Mary occur only to Papists.
This is yet another copy of Christian truth as spoken by Jesus when He says… ” I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep. ” Joh. 10:11 Only those whom the Father gives Him will ever see eternal life. Joh. 6:44-47
Only those so chosen will ever come to the Savior. In like manner, Mary appears solely to Papists.
Satan is a great imitator, mixing some truth with a pack of lies. In the above cited apparition of Mary the Papist is told that she is
” powerful in placating Divine Justice “.
Here it is plainly stated by Satan that through Mary placation of Divine Justice is to be found… which is the same as saying that through Satan attonement for sins are made… that ” pardon ” for sin is to be found in Mary… that is, Satan.
This is a taste of what is to come by Antichrist. To erect oneself as being God one must be able to forgive sin as God.
Papists already for centuries think their priests can forgive sin… but only the sins of Papists. it is but a small step for Antichrist to arise in the Latin Kingdom. Satan has millions who already follow him along the path he’s been cleverly forming since the Garden of Eden. As John puts it… ” the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one. ” 1 Joh. 5:19
Satan will use darkened minds to finally reveal himself to the world as God himself.
He has in his wiles patiently taught through the centuries his most devoted followers to ease away from God and move toward him as the source of truth; the source of forgiveness of sins; the source of eternal life. He started his campaign to ride himself of God through woman when he said ” you will be like God “… to which she and Adam gladly obliged. Gen. 3:6
While the Lord God prevented man from reaching the Tree of Life, Satan has attempted to provide himself as that Tree of Life through the many visitations of himself disguised as Mary. His desire to be worshipped is noted in Ez. 28 and Isa.14 has not ceased.
