The people had heard Jesus delivering Sermon of the the mount. they were all astonished as he preached as one with the authority, unlike the Pharisees. they had found in Jesus a great Guru with authority! It is little wonder that the multitude would follow Him!

1. There are at least 3 types of people
a. Who followed Jesus then
b. And do so today as well
2. There were those who LOVED Him
a. For Jesus’ speaking the truth in love
b. DREW in these types of people
c. Instead of repelling them
3. Some followed him for the FREE FOOD and MEDICAL (John 6:26)
a. But were not really interested
b. In spiritual truths
4. And there were the RELIGIOUS LEADERS (Matt 22:15, 23, 35)
a. Who are there MOSTLY
b. To criticize and test Him
5. Likewise TODAY many follow Jesus
a. Out of a heart of THANKFULNESS
b. And genuine love for being FORGIVEN
c. Worshiping and praising God
6. There are those who follow Jesus
a. To GET something
b. FROM Him
7. These are the ‘prosperity types’
a. And ‘Word of Faith’ people
b. Who are claiming their crown-rights
c. And their healings along
d. With their wealth NOW
8. And there are those who ‘follow’ Jesus
a. But only to criticize Him
b. And His genuine followers
9. These are the CRITICS and SKEPTICS
a. Who oddly enough
b. Are CONSUMED with Jesus
c. As they spend countless hours
d. Blogging about Bible contradictions
e. Scoffing and mocking Jesus
f. And His followers
10. So do NOT be impressed
a. By the NUMBER of people
b. Who may be interested in Jesus
c. Or even coming to church
11. Because not ALL of them are there
a. To love, know and worship Jesus
b. From a genuine heart of faith
