1. Ruth a Moabite and Rahab a Canaanite
a. Were both citizens by choice
b. And would have been allowed
c. To remain as part of Israel
2. The issue here was that unbelieving Ammonites and Moabites
a. Were affecting the spiritual well-being and culture
b. Of the Jews through mixed marriages
c. Bringing in their pagan gods with them
